Information & Character Château du Glana 2018 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (67%), Merlot (27%) and Cabernet Franc (6%). The grapes are placed in cold fermentation-maceration for 48 hours to extract color, tannins and aromas. The vinification is traditional and carried out in concrete and metal vats. The maceration lasts 3 weeks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in barrels, of which 40% are new. Nuanced, fruity aroma with roasted barrel character, hints of currants, dark chocolate, herbs, black currants, cedar, plums and coffee. Production The must fermented in temperature-controlled cement tanks and then in French oak barrels for 12 months.

About the Producer

Château du Glana is located in Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, in the Haut-Médoc region of Bordeaux. Originally covering 5 hectares of vines, Château du Glana was acquired by Gabriel Meffre in 1961 after a series of owners and vineyard expansions. The Meffre family is still in charge today, with Jean-Paul and his two sons Ludovic and Julien managing the château and its 60 hectares of vines. They carried out significant renovations to the estate, including the restoration of the vat room and aging cellars.
