Information & Character Tour de Luchey is a Merlot-dominant estate on the silty banks of the Dordogne River. Luchey was the king's caretaker, occupying the medieval tower on the estate and supervising cargo en route to the royal courts. This smooth blend is vinified to preserve the youthful charm and ripeness of the fruit and offer an attractive, easy-drinking red wine. It is delicious, well-balanced with red fruits, good weight and ripe tannins. Fruity and soft aromas with hints of dark fruits such as plums and blackcurrants. Production The must fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.

About the Producer

Tour de Luchey is a 16-hectare estate planted mainly with Merlot vines on the silty banks of the Dordogne River opposite St-Emilion. These vines are 40 years old and produce grapes with an old vine richness. Château Tour de Luchey is located on the banks of the Dordogne River and includes the medieval tower used centuries ago by the "Luchey", which in Old French refers to the king's steward. His job was to check the payload of ships leaving the port of Bordeaux and taking goods to the king. The estate has been in the same family for five generations.
