Information & Character The property is located on the typical gravelly soils of Pauillac, which provides excellent conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. The soil is well-drained and rich in pebbles, which contributes to the complexity and concentration of the wines. The harvest is done manually, and the vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks before the wine is aged in oak barrels, partly new, for about 12 months. A fairly typical, stylish Pauillac aroma, black currants, plums, cherries and tobacco. On the palate it is initially soft and full-bodied; the dark fruit from fully ripe grapes reveals subtle aromas of cherries, vanilla and spices.

Production The must fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, then aged for about 12 months in oak barrels.

About the Producer

Château Tour Sieujean dates back to the 19th century and is currently run by the Cruchon family, who also manage other small estates in the Médoc. The name "Tour Sieujean" comes from an old stone tower structure on the property, a typical landmark of classic Médoc chateaux. The wines from Château Tour Sieujean are characterized by classic Pauillac character: blackcurrant, cedar, tobacco and marked but well-polished tannins. They are considered affordable and appreciated by wine enthusiasts looking for traditional Médoc style without the highest cru classé prices. The property has gradually improved its profile and is now considered one of the better "cru bourgeois" levels in the area.
