Information & Character Harvested manually and aged in a mix of old and new oak barrels for 16-20 months. The result is a wine that naturally bears the strong stamp of barrel aging, but because the wood seems beautifully integrated and the fruit is at the same time very generous, this is a wine that tastes wonderful from the moment it is released and throughout its shelf life. A classic Pomerol and a safe choice for a wide range of classic portions of veal, beef, game and lamb with roots in regional French cuisine. Aromas of juicy dark cherries and plums. Wonderful & balanced flavors of chocolate, spices, new leather, liquorice and suede abound.

Production The must fermented in temperature-controlled cement tanks and then in French oak barrels for 18 months.

Soil Limestone and clay soil

Suitable for Perfect with lamb, game and beef.

About the Producer

Classic, critically acclaimed Pomerol château, located near the church on the central plateau. The château has only 4.6 hectares, and this has created a great international demand. Clos du Clocher was founded in 1924 by Jean Baptiste Audy, who started with a microscopic cultivation plot near the church in the town, on the central plateau. The best vines are planted a stone's throw from the coal châteaux La Fleur Petrus and Trotanoy. Michel Rolland is a consulting oenologist and has contributed to the great quality improvement that has occurred since the 2000s. In 2010, the cellar was completely renovated and is now state-of-the-art.
