Information & Character Côtes du Rhône is located in southeastern France and is both the collective name for all wines grown along the slopes of the Rhône Valley and a so-called AOC, Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée. In the north, less than five percent of the total production is grown with more expensive and elegant wines based on Syrah. In the south, fuller and more powerful wines with Grenache dominate. Big, rich and complex aroma of black currants, sweet liquorice, deep concentrated fruit and hints of herbs and spices. Rich, very complex, concentrated taste with good roundness from the oak aging. Aged in oak barrels for 14 months.

Production Traditional vinification per grape variety with total destemming of the harvest. Storage for about 30 days in containers between 25-28 degrees, then storage in new and old oak barrels for 12 months.

Soil Clay and calcareous soil

Perfect companion wine and also goes well with charcuterie and light meat.

About the Producer

The Côte du Rhône-Villages appellation is home to some of the world's best value wines. Domaine de Grangeneuve is located in the commune of Rousse and the vineyards are planned with 50% Grenache, 35% Syrah, Cinsault and Carignan 8%, 7% whites (Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne and Grenache Blanc). The estate is a family business and is run by the Bour family.
