Information & Character The grapes come from several different vineyard locations around the property, giving the wine a complex character characterized by different terroirs. The style is dry, fresh and mineral-driven, with typical aromas of citrus fruits, green apples and sometimes a light petroleum tone that is classic for Riesling from the area. The taste is lively and balanced with high acidity, elegant fruitiness and a long, clean finish with clear minerality. The aroma is intense and complex with notes of citrus fruits, green apples, white flowers and granite. The taste is fresh and delicate with an excellent acid structure with notes of orange blossom, lemon peel, grapefruit, honey, almond and granite. The finish is long with a fine minerality that gives the wine an impressive freshness and balance.

Production After fermentation is complete, the wine undergoes maturation on its lees.

About the Producer

The Domaine Meyer-Fonné winery is located in the village of Katzenthal near Colmar in northeastern France and has been run by the Meyer family for three generations. Today, the business is led by Félix Meyer, who took over in 1992. The property comprises approximately 14 hectares of vineyards spread across several villages and different terroirs in Alsace. Meyer-Fonné is particularly known for its high-quality white wines, such as Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer, which often display great balance and clear minerality. The winery works with several Grand Cru sites, including Wineck-Schlossberg and Schoenenbourg, which contributes to the complexity and aging potential of the wines. The philosophy is based on allowing the terroir and the natural character of the grapes to express themselves.
