Information & Character Roreto in Treiso, about 300 m above sea level, southwest exposure. The vines were planted as early as 1965, which is interesting for the concentration. Aged for about 10–12 months, half in barrique and half in 500-liter tonneaux, followed by about 6 months in bottle. Full-bodied, warm and fruity, with cherries, plums and violets, plus spices, cocoa and a little tobacco/leather. The tannins are relatively soft while the high acidity of Barbera provides freshness. Elegant aromas of ripe cherries, red berries and violets. On the palate it is very juicy, fresh and lively, with a perfect balance between fruit intensity and fresh acidity.

Production Maceration 10–15 days on the skins at a maximum of around 28 °C. Then aging for around 10–12 months, half in barriques and half in 500-litre tonneaux, followed by around 6 months in bottle.

Soil Lime and clay-rich soil and to some extent sand.

Goes with Perfect with ragù, pasta, grilled/boiled meat, pork and aged cheeses.

About the Producer

Orlando Abrigo is a family-owned quality producer in Treiso, in the middle of the Langhe area just outside Alba and in the heart of Barbaresco. The family has worked with wine for generations, and Giovanni Abrigo runs the business today. Above all, Barbaresco – their most important wines come from the Rongalio, Meruzzano and Montersino locations, among others. They have around 20 hectares of vineyards, with Nebbiolo at the center but also Barbera, Dolcetto and white grapes. The winery was built in 2013 and is modernly integrated into the landscape, with a focus on both tradition and gentle winemaking.
