Information & Character It takes its name from an area in the Cru of Castelletto. The selected grapes in the oldest part of the vineyard make it possible to obtain a full-bodied wine. The color is garnet red with orange reflections. The bouquet is complex, ranging from licorice to jam. This elegant wine is aged in French barriques and in large oak barrels. Maceration on the skins in rotary fermenters with temperature control between 25-30°C for about 10-15 days. After malolactic fermentation, it is aged for about 12 months in French oak barrels of Lt 225 and 12 to 18 months in large oak barrels of HL 50. Balsamic with notes of mint and licorice. Velvety tannins with excellent finesse and elegance in flavor persistence.
Production 10-15 days of fermentation and skin maceration at 25-30 degrees in stainless steel tanks.
Soil Lime and clay-rich soil and to some extent sand.
Perfect for charcuterie, game and grilled meats and cheese.
About the Producer
It all began in 1988, when Aldo and Riccardo released the first bottle of Barolo under the Seghesio label. Today in the company next to Riccardo are the nephews Michela, Sandro and Marco. Together they take care of all aspects of the business: in the vineyard from pruning to picking, in the cellar from winemaking to sales, in the office from administration to marketing. The estate extends over 10 hectares of vineyards that produce around 60,000 bottles.
