Information & Character Separate vinification for Barbera (same as "L'Attesa") and Croatina and assembly after aging. Croatina is the antithesis of Barbera, a vine with low acidity but very rich in color and tannins. This important presence of tannins was decisive for the choice of large barrels. If Barbera needs to be refined for a long time to express itself at its best, Gutturnio is even more so. Experience shows us that years of aging make Croatina's tannins sweet and elegant, giving the wine an incredible ease of drinking. Crushed aroma of dark berries, with elegant aromas. Lush fruit on the palate but with hints of vibrant sour cherries with an elegant finish.

Production Spontaneous fermentation with domestic yeasts in fiberglass tanks and then aged for 24 months in oak barrels and then 12 months in bottle.

Soil Lime and clay-rich soil and to some extent sand.

Suitable for Perfectly aged cheese and grilled food.

About the Producer

The Solenghi winery was born in 1983 from Gaetano's idea. Bored with office life, he decided to dedicate himself to working on a small vineyard, only expanded to one hectare, owned by his aunt Maria Teresa. Gaetano began working under the guidance of Celsino, an old farmer born in 1920 who previously managed the vineyard. From him, Gaetano learned the farming skills that the vineyards still use today. Respect for nature, which today means environmental sustainability Gaetano courageously rejected the dominant economic model based on maximum yield and gave up tillage, fertilization and the use of chemistry.
