Information & Character The quality selected grapes come from the highest part of the Ripa vineyard, composed of the "Delle Querce" and "Il Poggio" parcels. In these areas, the soil and microclimate ensure richness and concentration to the grapes. "La Ripa represents the best selection from the two parcels. It is a deep and complex wine with intense aromas, suitable for long aging and expressing a unique identity". Notes of mulberry and cherry open to notes of Mediterranean maquis, cinnamon, licorice root, aromatic herbs. Full-bodied, balanced by an impeccable tannin consistency, fine finish.

Production 15-20 days of fermentation and skin maceration at 20 degrees in stainless steel tanks.

Soil Limestone, schist, clay and volcanic soil.

Goes with Perfect with beef and pork as well as aged cheese.

About the Producer

Marco Barbi has always lived on this farm. The history of the vineyard is based on a family tradition. Under the guidance of his father, as was the custom in the 60s, wine was made for the house, and the remaining part of the grapes, produced on 2.5 hectares of the property, was sold. Later he decided to leave and do something else. He studied design and started designing furniture for a local industry. But the bond with my land was visceral and at the end of the 90s I felt the strong calling. The vineyard needed replanting and I returned to it and began a profound modernization of the production.
