Information & Character Maset Vintage Gran Reserva is made from a blend of indigenous Spanish grapes Macabeo, Xarel-lo and Parellada. After harvest, the wine undergoes the "Methode Traditionelle" which is the traditional method for producing sparkling wines in Champagne and Cava. The wine is then aged for 45 months on the lees. The long ageing on the lees gives the Cavan a complex fruitiness and long freshness. Golden hues and fine elegant bubbles. Ripe with fruit such as peach, lemon peel, brioche, toast and hazelnuts. Balanced, creamy and velvety, with a fresh finish.
Production The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged only in steel tanks.
Soil Sand and chalky soil
Goes well with Excellent as an aperitif, elegant starters with seafood, cold cuts and cheese.
About the Producer
Maset has a tradition of producing wine in Catalonia dating back to 1777. Cava production started a little later, around the end of the 19th century, and today they produce a series of different sparkling wines. In addition to Catalonia, the family also owns vineyards in Priorat, Rioja, Ribera del Duero and Galicia. Maset's Cava style is very dry and fruity, with a fresh acidity. The vineyards are completely organically cultivated and the production is done with great respect for the tradition of Cava production.
