Information & Character Altos de Luzón 2020 celebrates the special identity of the Jumillana land. The grapes are harvested manually in boxes of 10/15 kg. Transported to the winery with great care, goes to a cold room for 24 hours at 6ºC. Then it is selected at the table and the best grapes are selected before incubation and vinification. Fermentation takes place over a period of 8 to 10 days, and does not exceed a temperature of 24/26ºC. The wine remains in contact with the skins in maceration, for a period between 10 and 15 days. Red aged for 12 months in American and French oak barrels. The aromas are expressive & intense with notes of red & black fruits, sweet spices & soft smoked notes of the aging. Upright with a lively freshness with fine tannins & a persistent finish.
Production The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged only in oak barrels.
Soil: Calcareous soils with lots of stone
Suitable for Perfect charcuterie, meat dishes of lamb, pork and poultry.
About the Producer
Bodega Luzon is one of the largest producers and exporters of DOP Jumilla wine since it was founded by Don José de Molina. He was a commander of the royal armies stationed in the Philippines and decided to return to his homeland of Jumilla after finishing his military career, naming his property "Finca Luzón" in honor of the island where he spent so much time and which always remained in his life. Since 1966, DOP Jumilla. has become one of the oldest designations of origin in Spain.
