About the Producer
The history of the El Lagar de Isilla winery and its wines began in 1995 in Ribera del Duero. It all began in the historic 15th century winery located below the El Lagar de Isilla restaurant in Aranda de Duero. There, at a depth of 12 meters, the Zapatero Pinto family produced the first 50,000 bottles of a wine that is already a reference today with its 250,000 bottles in annual production. Their vineyards are mainly located in the districts of La Vid and San Juan del Monte, at the beginning of the Burgos Ribera del Duero (east-west). They have 40 hectares of vineyards, of which 30 are young vineyards and 10 are old vineyards (60 to 90 years old). The dominant variety is Tinta del País or Tempranillo.
Vinification Cold maceration at 8ºC for 7 days then malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels.
