Information & Character Viña el Chorro is the winery's most purposeful commitment to the terroir. An undoubtedly exceptional wine area. Located at the end of a narrow valley, it occupies an area of two hectares between two small hills. The soil is a succession of clay with a calcareous base, sandy veins and gravel. It is 880 meters above sea level. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Ripe dark fruit such as plums and blackberries. High concentration, complexity and elegance. A soft start develops into sweet and ripe tannins that transform the wine into a powerful, well-rounded experience with good minerality.

Production The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged only in oak tanks.

Soil Alluvial with sand and clay to lime.

Pairs well with red meat, poultry, pork and cheese.

About the Producer

Since 2014, the winery has been owned by Oscar Garrote, Diego Alvarez Gorosito, Felipe Castrillo and a group of wine-loving Swedes with close ties to Ribera del Duero. Felipe Castrillo continues to be the winemaker and founding partner of the winery. The project began during the 2005 harvest with the commitment to produce wines well differentiated according to their origin. The work carried out with this objective over these years has led us to seek uniqueness within different areas of the designation of origin. Right now we control a total of 19.5 hectares distributed over 16 plots and 4 different geographical areas.
