Information & Character Their most charismatic vermouth is made with a double infusion of red vermouth and bitter herbs. Rojo Amargo begins with a first infusion of mountain plants, with their small roots and very aromatic flowers. The vermouth then rests for two years in chestnut barrels that gently absorb the aromas and when the aging process is complete, a second herbal blend consisting of a combination of plant bark and roots from the area around the vineyard is added, giving the vermouth even more character and its bitter feel. Stylish aromas of ripe orange peel with a subtle touch of cinnamon follow into balsamic tones of cloves and dried fruit such as apricot. Smooth and full-bodied taste with fresh sensations of orange, followed by a fantastic bitter taste that is round, intense and reminiscent of tobacco, chinchona bark and honeysuckle.

Suitable for: Suitable as an appetizer or an excellent choice for finger food.

About the Producer

The Padró family's winemaking dates back to 1886 and to the village of Bràfim (Tarragona), which at the time was a bustling agricultural hub with around 400 inhabitants. The very first sales were of wines and liqueur wines loaded onto carts in large but simple barrels and sold directly from there by the first generation of winemaking Padrós: Daniel Padró Porta (1846-1890) and his wife Rosa Valldosera. At that time they ran a fairly humble establishment with just a press and a small amount of distillery equipment to make spirits and anise liqueurs. The fifth generation, is currently in charge of the winery.
