Information & Character Geologically, the location of their vineyards has unique characteristics. Under a 20 cm layer of soil, the soil holds pure Taunus quartzite. The roots of the old vines go very deep into the ground. Therefore, they are supplied with highly mineralized groundwater. Due to constant westerly winds, which are characteristic of the Johannisberg plateau, the grapes dry out very quickly even in rainy years and therefore stay fresh. This is how our delicate high-quality Riesling becomes uniquely fresh, playful and fruity. Fresh and moist aroma of pear, apricot and grapefruit. The taste is elegant with hints of pear, apricot and exotic fruit with a fresh tone of grapefruit and mineral.
Production After fermentation is complete, the wine undergoes maturation on its lees.
Soil Lime-rich soil
Perfect as a companion wine, but also with vegetarian dishes as well as poultry, seafood, cheese and pork dishes.
About the Producer
Trenz has been practicing for more than 340 years...which you can taste! Fine wines require the winemaker's commitment and willingness to explore new paths. Due to diligent care of the vineyards and correctly pruned vines, the extract and weight of the must are higher. A late and selective grape harvest by hand and a delicate compression of the grapes optimize the must. By using the most modern techniques while working in the wine cellar and allowing a slow cold fermentation, they produce fresh, fruity and rich high-quality wines.
